1) General
• Please read all that follows and the other important sheets mentioned.
• This is a semi-literate roleplaying site. No chat speak (lol, u, etc.) outside of the chatboxes, use proper grammar and mechanics, and please be creative with your writing.
• Word count is 100 words minimum. There are some exceptions to this rule, such as if a fast paced battle occurs, only a miniscule action is being performed (though attempt to include your characters’ emotions, the scenery, or anything else that can impact the scene, or if for most other reasons that are specified in an attached out of character note.)
• The rating for the majority of the site is the same as the rating on the box of Super Smash brothers Brawl: T for Teen. Neither excessive romance nor language is permitted, though gore is tolerated under the arena. That is where most of the rating should come from. Please role-play over the PMing system if you wish to do something R rated.
• In saying that, strong language may be used, but bleep out some of the stronger words, please.
• IMPORTANT: One character per account and your screen name must be named after the character you have selected. (We’ll still call you the name you prefer in the OOC )Due to the limited roster, we will only allot one character per member to begin with. If there is a lack of members, an existing member quits and passes their character on to you with a decent reason, or if you deem yourself loyal to the site, doubles will be allowed.
• Niceness is priceless! Please be kind to other members.
• Activity is crucial for this site’s up keeping. If you have an accepted character but you’re never on you are blocking the potential of another member. Please state when you will be leaving.
• Posting templates are not required but are accepted. My coding skills have left this site a little drab, so it would be lovely to see a little color in every post!
• With the reveal of Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS, characters already revealed may be played, but be advised that their move sets and personal details will have to be maintained with new information (kept up to date here). Veteran characters with updated move sets are allowed to have a combination of both their Brawl and SSB4 ones.
2) Rules regarding characters
• Please check the Character information sheets for more on characters, the list of characters and the application.
• Characters are visually portrayed as they are in Brawl OR Melee. Do not change their appearance. (For example- 3D Mr. Game&Watch, anime Ness, etc.) This allows some sort of unity and fairness, plus it adds a challenge in creativity. Character outside of the smash bros series will look as if they do in their respective games. Characters who have multiple appearances (i.e. Link) may only have ONE physical incarnation. Characters do not have to stay in costume all the time, though. The only aspect that needs to stay consistent is the appearance itself.
• The exception to this previous rule is that characters may look like how they appear in Super Smash Bros for Wii U and 3DS if their new art has been revealed already. This should be a given, though.
• If a minor, non-arena battle occurs between two or more characters, it must be by the consent of each participant. Please contact an admin or moderator if you feel as if things are unfair.
• CHARACTERS ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Multiple requests for a character will go to whoever submits the best character application.
• Characters from all SSB games are accepted. If you want to have a character that is first party but is outside of the SSB universe you must already have an active character from the original games. The moveset must be believable. Make it as if they really are from the game!
• Try to stay true to your character’s franchise! I am not an expert on every Nintendo game, so I trust that you all know best.
• You are allowed to have pairing and relationships that are not officially cannon. These are recommended to be plotted out through the boards provided so that an admin may know for keeping track. Do not force other members into relationships just because you like the pairing. It should be a mutual agreement between the two of you, mkay?
• For characters lacking real personality, you may give them one that you find suits best. If they are silent and usually don’t speak you may allow them to do so. Speech is very important for plot progression, so if you possess a character (i.e. Kirby, Yoshi) who doesn't talk, a universal translation is required.
• R.O.B.s are generally NPC’s who can be controlled by anyone. Only one person can claim one as an actual character; however, they are not able to brawl and will act under servitude.
3) When battling
• NO POWERPLAY! This also includes god modding. For example…
LINK SMASHED MARIO RIGHT IN THE FACE WITH HIS SWORD AND DID SO MUCH DAMAGE THAT MARIO’S MIND EXPLODED FROM DA SHEER POWAH
Uh uh. Ain’t having none of that.
• Final smashes cannot be used outside of the arena. Also, every move they perform can’t be their final smash.
• Make sure all fighting is under the consent of all of the characters.
• The winner should be determined before the battle.
• YOUR CHARACTER IS NOT INVINCIBLE. Ever get bombarded with fire, run over by the Blue Falcon, or crushed by the landmaster? Well, neither have I. But still, that should really hurt! Since gore is tolerated, you may go as far as you please.
• Characters cannot die. They can come close to it, but expect to have them patched up and acting as if nothing happened afterwards… With the exception of mental scarring.
• In general, anything is fine just as long as the writing on each side is fair!
In general, all these rules are standard. If you have any questions, please contact me or any other staff member. We will be more than happy to help you!
